MIC Ghana 'MEC'
In 2024, we completed the feasibility study into upcycling residual streams from cocoa production into materials for the built environment. We have successfully created partitioning wall systems and school desktops with cocoa shell boards. The next step is to set up a local MIC in Ghana (2024-2025).
MIC India 'ApUp'
In India, we've specialized in upcycling rice paddy straw. Collaborating with farmers and international consumer-faced furniture brands alike, we've been developing commercial distribution channels for locally produced materials that would otherwise be burnt as of 2021.
MIC Netherlands 'Materitam'
We started our journey in The Netherlands and have been working with a multi-disciplinary set of stakeholders from industry and academia, including designers, fast-moving consumer brands, governmental parties and academia since 2019.
MIC Singapore 'Kilang'
In Singapore, we've been pushing for a local upcycling centre for material streams from the urban environment, such as plastics and recycled textiles since 2020.
